So, you decided you want to get an old Mustang, and you want to buy one that doesn't need any work, or minimal. This 1969 Mach 1 was for sale locally for $39,900 about 10 years ago. The car looked pretty good from this angle and at the time this was on the higher end for a 351 car that needed some small things but was a nice quality driver.
Then you see this under the hood, this Mustang had a shock tower repair. Someone used a torch to cut out the inside area of the shock tower it appears and scabbed in part of another shock tower.
They didn't bother to do the repair properly by replacing the whole shock tower and they didn't bother to clean up the torched edges. While we can't see the back side, there is no evidence of a good, penetrated weld anywhere. They didn't bother to clean up the edges or even hide this botched repair. Does it work? Kinda, alignment specs have changed, and I doubt this would hold up in an accident and it's extremely likely over time that it will come apart or start to crack or separate. Chances are someone bought this car, regardless of price hopefully they realized this was a priority repair that needed to be fixed properly.
